Angels Among Us

Angels Among Us provides financial and emotional support to pediatric cancer families living in or being treated in Nebraska. In 2025, Angels Among Us served 122 families with over $890,000 in financial assistance and had over 1,200 emotional support programming touchpoints. 

Life seems to stop when a child is diagnosed with cancer. Expenses don't. That's where we come in. 

AAU makes critical bill payments on behalf of pediatric cancer families for the duration of their child's critical treatment plan to alleviate the financial burden brought on by a diagnosis. Critical bills include rent, mortgage, utility bills, car payments, and more. 85% of families qualify for AAU's highest funding level where rent or mortgage is the most commonly paid bill. 

Angels Among Us also established emotional support programming in 2022 to provide wraparound services for pediatric cancer families. All programming is free of charge for every member of the family to truly walk alongside them in their journeys. This programming includes family wide connection events, support groups, bereavement groups in partnership with Collective for Hope, family kits, and an in-patient meal program in partnership with Children's Nebraska. Over the next year, the priority is to make these opportunities available in all pockets of the state for all families to access.
