Our goals are:
• To partner with other agencies and community ministries in the Kearney area.
• To treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• To have food, personal products, and financial support available for families in crisis.
• To obtain funding sources to support our efforts.
Bev Schumacher, a volunteer at the Community Pantry recalls a day when a woman named Mary came in to apply for financial assistance and needed food for her family for several months. About six months passed, and Mary came in again with another woman. She said that, with our help, she had gotten her life together but that her friend was now in need. She also said that she brought her friend to Prince of Peace because every time she needed help, she was greeted with a friendly smile, kindness, and no judgment.
