Kearney Lions Club

Our motto is "We Serve." The Kearney Lions Club's main focus is vision and literacy.

WE SERVE! Chartered in 1941 as a place for volunteers to create and foster a spirit of understanding among the residents of Kearney and the surrounding area for humanitarian needs, specializing in vision, hearing, and diabetes.



THE LIONS CLUB PROVIDES...

• assistance with the cost of eye exams, eyeglasses, and eye surgeries

• vision screenings in preschool and school-age children in Kearney with a total of 1,773 in 2020

• sponsored a bookmark contest and have donated $1000 to Kearney El

• Give Where You Live participant since 2017

• annual scholarship to UNK and CCC

• picnic for High School Senior All-Star Golfers

• annual soup supper and peach sales fundraisers

• recycle used eyeglasses to third-world countries

• provide scholarships for youth camps (diabetic, vision, and hearing)

• early childhood eye screening

• plus other projects in Kearney like bookmark campaign and school book donation!

Testimonials

In 2019 we packed over 2,000 pairs of used glasses to send to foreign countries and again in 2020 over 2,000 pairs of glasses were recycled in Kearney, Nebraska.
