To increase paddling opportunities, promote water safety and practice water conservation in natural environments.
Over the past fourteen years, the Kearney Whitewater Association (KWA) has worked diligently to develop a premier water trail with whitewater features in Kearney. Due to the generous contributions received through previous Give Where You Live events, funding was secured for two public landings constructed in 2016, as well as for the development of two whitewater features completed in 2022.
In 2027, a public use water trail landing will be developed at the Cherry Avenue Trailhead in Kearney. This landing will provide a safe means of access for paddlers on Turkey Creek. Donations received during the 2026 Give Where You Live event will be used to support this project. We will continue to collaborate with public entities to improve water trail aesthetics and safety.
Your support makes a difference. 100% of donations go directly toward these projects-helping to create lasting recreational and environmental benefits for the community.
The Kearney Whitewater Association is a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization made up of passionate members from across the region.
