Central Elementary School

Central Elementary is on a mission to reimagine our playground-creating a space where every child can play, move, learn, and grow together. By updating our equipment and play environment, we're building a brighter, more inclusive future for our students-one that inspires physical fitness, fuels imagination, and strengthens our community through active play.

From morning walks in the gym to fruit and veggie classroom snacks, Central Elementary is committed to using a variety of strategies to help parents raise healthy, active children. Our students participate in 'PE Everyday', and research conducted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney has shown remarkable results - a 20% decrease in childhood obesity over the past four years.

But our mission doesn't stop there. Central Elementary is on a mission to reimagine our playground experience and equipment to promote physical fitness, active play, and healthy lifestyles beyond the gym. We believe recess is an essential extension of our wellness efforts, offering students the chance to move, explore, and build friendships while strengthening their bodies and minds.

By updating our playground, we aim to create a space where every child can play, grow, and thrive - because healthy habits begin with active hearts and joyful play.
