Over the past twelve years, the Kearney Whitewater Association (KWA) has worked diligently to develop a premier water trail with whitewater features in Kearney. Thanks to generous support from previous Give Where You Live events, two public landings were funded, completing Phase I of the Kearney Water Trail. Give Where You Live donations also helped KWA contribute to the transformation near 2nd Avenue, where two whitewater features were constructed in 2022.

KWA remains focused on the future with plans to further expand and enhance the trail. Upcoming goals include extending the waterway, adding more public access points, improving boater safety, implementing conservation practices, and increasing cleanup efforts in and around the stream.
