Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary focuses on the conservation of the Platte River ecosystem and the birds that rely on it.
Audubon's Rowe Sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation of the habitat critical for Sandhill Cranes, Whooping Cranes, and other migratory birds along the Platte River in Nebraska. As part of the National Audubon Society, we protect and manage approximately 2,900 acres of bird habitat in Gibbon, NE, and work with partners to create a sustainable future for the river and the wildlife that rely on it. At the National Audubon Society, we aim reverse the decline of birds across the hemisphere to create a planet where birds can thrive. Along with habitat protection, nature-based education is a major focus at Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary, with year-round programs for local schools, groups, volunteers, and families.
Testimonials
"This was a fantastic experience. We had a great viewing night! The blinds are quite roomy and definitely keep in a lot of the heat generated by the people viewing. There are a huge amount of open windows, so you don't have to jockey for position. The guides are knowledgeable and fun. Plus, if there are folks in the group that might have issues walking to or from the blind (after dark), they can give you a lift on a golf cart. I will definitely be returning in future years!" - Damon Shearer
