Give Where You Live Prizes


Give Where You Live is a 24-hour fundraising day created to rally community support for local charitable causes. This fun one-day fundraiser is being powered by the Kearney Area Community Foundation (KACF) and will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from midnight to midnight.


Community members are asked to make donations and show support for the local nonprofit organizations that positively impact their lives every day. Prizes, match monies, and other incentives during the Give Where You Live campaign make this a strategic way and time to give back to your community.


This year, there will be $135,000 given to participating nonprofits through the Challenge Match Pool and various prizes! Winners will receive extra social media promotion.


1.  Biggest Percentage Prize: Prizes for the nonprofits with the biggest percentage increase over last year (only nonprofits that participated last year in Give Where You Live are eligible.) Eligible nonprofits must raise more than the prize amount. For example, if you only raise $200 and have the biggest percentage increase, you are only eligible for the $200 prize. A GREAT INCENTIVE FOR YOUR DONORS!


  • PRIZE: 1st Place: $2000, 2nd Place: $1000, 3rd Place: $500, and 4th Place: $200 (In case of a tie, a winner will be randomly drawn.)


2.  Breakfast Club Prize: It’s not just a classic movie, it’s also a great prize! Donors who give between 8:00-10:00 AM during Give Where You Live will be entered into a random drawing to win $500 for the organization that received their donation.  NEW THIS YEAR!



3.  For Good Forever Prize: Participating nonprofits that raise over $10,000 during Give Where You Live will be entered into a random drawing for one organization to be awarded an endowment fund at the Kearney Area Community Foundation. (If the winning organization already has an endowment at KACF, then the $10,000 prize will be added to their fund). Note: The winner doesn’t have to use the funds raised during GWYL for the endowment. THE BIG ONE!

4.  Golden Tickets Prize: Donors will be chosen at random, each hour, from the donations made during Give Where You Live to have an additional $300 Golden Ticket given to the organization that received their donation. Winners drawn from 1:00 to 8:00 AM will be posted on social media after the office opens at 8:00 AM. CST. TRADITIONAL PRIZE!

5.  Insomnia Prize: So excited about Give Where You Live that you can’t sleep? Put that excitement to good use! We will give four total $750 prizes to nonprofits that receive online donations between 1:00-3:00 AM or 10:00-11:59 PM during Give Where You Live. NEW THIS YEAR!

6.  Last Chance to Win: Haven’t won a prize yet? This is your last chance! Donors who donate between 11:00-11:59 PM during Give Where You Live to an organization that hasn’t yet received a prize during Give Where You Live 2023 will be entered into a random drawing to win $750.00 for the organization that received their donation. NEW THIS YEAR!

7.  Pop Up Prize: Three different “Pop Up Prizes” will be posted on the Kearney Area Community Foundation Facebook page throughout the day on December 7. Each post will explain the criteria for each prize and how long the prize window will be open. So be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page on December 7! Spread your donations throughout the day for a better chance of winning a Pop Up Prize! NOTE: The first Pop Up Prize will not be posted until after 7:30 AM. NEW THIS YEAR!

8.  Reach New Heights on Social Media Prize: We know the money raised through Give Where You Live will help local nonprofits “Reach New Heights”. So how will GWYL impact your organization? Post your organization’s goals on Facebook. Tell your followers how your organization will "Reach New Heights” and explain what you hope to accomplish because of Give Where You Live. NEW THIS YEAR!


To enter and qualify, explain how you will “Reach New Heights” by posting on Facebook between November 2 and December 7 using the hashtag #ReachNewHeights. Post something new each week to be entered for the weekly drawing! Remember, Early Giving doesn’t open until November 9, so keep that in mind when making your post for the first week (November 2-November 9).


Next, send a screenshot of your posts each week to andi@kearneyfoundation.org with the following in the subject line: “Reach New Heights Post”. Posts will need to be made and sent to Andi by noon on the day of each drawing in order to be entered in that week's drawing.


  • PRIZE: Five - $500 prize (randomly drawn from qualifying organizations – one each week – drawn November 9, November 16, November 22 (day early due to Thanksgiving), November 30 and December 7).


9.  Under the Umbrella Prize: KACF supports over 260 funds and to show our continued support of “nonprofits under our umbrella” they will be entered into a random drawing for a $500 prize. To be eligible for the drawing, the organization needs to have raised more than $1,000 and had more than 10 gifts during Give Where You Live.  A THANK YOU TO OUR FUNDS!

10.  Welcome Home Prize: Enjoy a nice evening at home with a prize! Donors who donate between 5:00 – 6:00 PM during Give Where You Live will be entered into a random drawing to win $500.00 for the organization that received their donation. NEW THIS YEAR!

Excited to give?


Early online giving starts November 9, 2023. Donations for the Give Where You Live campaign between 

November 9 - December 7 will be charged on the donor's credit card the day you make your donation. Early gifts will count towards prizes and match money.
