Boy Scouts of America, también conocido como Overland Trails Council

Acerca de esta organización

An on-going project is to maintain our club home which was built in 1886. In 1931 we were given the house as a memorial gift from Maren (Downing) Morrison, daughter of Mr./Mrs. Wallace Downing. We received full title and deed to the home in 2004. Our club home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in Januaary 1981. It is our duty to keep this historic Kearney house in pristeen condiition. That requires money !
Another way we benefit our community is by supporting many other non-profit agencies with financial and in-kind donations. Our members focus on a specific agency each month. We invite speakers in to provide information about what they do to help others. We learn of more ways that we can be involved in our mission statement shown above. We have fundraisers to raise funds for the upkeep of our home AND to raise funds or collect needed items for local non-profits. We give of our time by making & serving meals for other agencies and serving as hostesses for community events. We sponsor a Sophomore Pilgrimage to the state capital, provide funds for girls' Quiz Bowls, and support state, national, & international NFWC & GFWC projects.
