Acerca de esta organización

The Buffalo County Historical Society and its Trails & Rails Museum are dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Buffalo County through exhibits, programs, and community engagement. By "Preserving our past… moving towards our future," BCHS connects generations through the stories that define our county and inspire its future. Our charming museum offers guided tours and a comprehensive Family Research Center and archives for visitors of all ages to explore.

Join us on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 1-5 p.m. for a free open house inside the Family History Center at the Trails & Rails Museum, 710 W. 11th St. in Kearney.

Don't miss the Museum's signature annual events including the Don't Come Event, Wagons West Celebration, From Beyond the Grave, and the Christmas Tree Walk-each offering a unique way to experience local history. Visitors can also enjoy Fabulous Fridays, a free monthly speaking series, or explore history through free school tours like Kearney Public Schools' Pioneer Days, when every 4th grader spends a full day at the Museum. Plus, catch the T&R Blacksmiths in action during their monthly PBA hammer-ins!
