We are a private, non-profit organization serving 27 counties in south central Nebraska including Kearney and Buffalo County . A critical need for the agency is to raise additional funds for our Community Action Food Bank and Pantry. The delays in SNAP funding make food security programs more important than ever. Our Food Bank works to meet critical needs while also aiming to provide healthy food options. We use our Food Bank's refrigerated truck to deliver healthy produce to one community within Buffalo County every other week. This produce is at no cost to the community. The focus is to serve primarily low-to-moderate-income individuals with healthy produce obtained through our partnership agreement with Food Bank for the Heartland out of Omaha, NE as well as food obtained through our Food Rescue program and general food donations. In 2024, we started our 11th Street Food Pantry located at the Food Bank in Kearney open on the weeks that we don't have a Mobile Produce pantry. We would utilize all donations to support operating costs. The Food Bank receives no federal or state funding and is funded through grants and donations only.
