Our Mobile Closet events provide a dedicated shopping experience for youth in foster care to use their voice in selecting new seasonal clothes that reflect their style. Each youth is able to choose five NEW outfits, a pair of shoes, seven pairs of socks, seven pairs of underwear, a seasonably appropriate coat or jacket, and comfort items. We are committed to providing a good selection of options in each size from 0-3 months all the way to adult, so that each youth can find clothing that makes them feel comfortable and confident as they navigate their foster care journey.

We offer two seasons of clothing each year - fall/winter and spring/summer - and serve around 60 youth each season from the Kearney area. As long as a youth is in foster care, they are eligible to shop once per season. Youth are constantly growing, and our Mobile Closet service helps caregivers in your community stretch their limited resources by providing these basic items amidst growth spurts and changes in style as youth mature.

The Foster Care Closet of Nebraska serves about 1,600 youth annually in 10 communities across Nebraska.
