School pantries directly provide food to students and families who don't have enough to eat, helping to combat child hunger. Bearcat Cares Pantry started in 2017 with the student council providing food through fundraisers. The food that was being donated was often canned veggies and items that were not "kid friendly". We recognized that we needed to provide "ready to eat meals" and snacks to help bridge the weekend gap for students. All of the food is provided through the generosity of community donations and fundraising. Students receive weekly food bags and families can recieve monthly food boxes deliver to their homes.
