Coats for Kids

We provide warmth, confidence and hope to children in need through the gift of brand-new winter coats. Through serving nearly 1,000 children each year, we have seen that a brand-new coat offers a child physical and emotional warmth, confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope for a brighter future. Coats for Kids is a joint effort of Kearney nonprofit organizations. Families register for coats with their back to school backpacks and receive their new winter coat by the first of October.

Coats for Kids is a joint effort of Noon Kiwanis, Kearney Elks Lodge #984, Buffalo County Goodfellows, United Way of the Kearney Area and Operation Warm. Through combining efforts, these organizations feel they can best serve Kearney's kids by providing free brand-new coats before the cold of winter sets in.
